Deionised Water, Glycerine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Mineral Oil, Lanolin, Sorbitol, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben.

(from the packaging itself)

First Impression & Experience: ★

It feels the same as the one I've used before in Australia. The name is Lanolin oil moisturising cream, but it's in lotion form & not oily at all. The fragrance scent is not overly strong. It has medium texture when you pumped out, but once you glide it off, it became transparent & quite watery. It dries off very quickly & doesn't leave any sticky feeling.

Pros:

  • Affordable price with a big tub
  • Doesn't dry off sticky

Cons:

  • Not occlusive enough
  • Used up very fast because of reapplication constantly

Final Thoughts & Conclusion:

I've tried this brand's 250g before when I was in Australia's Autumn season (around June-July 2020) from Big W, QV Melbourne with AU$3.50 (approximately ~RM14). At that time because I just landed in this dry climate country & my body's extremely dry after every hot bathes, this moisturizing cream immediately soothes my skin from flaking & itchiness.

However when I used this in Malaysia with a humid weather in an air-conditioned room, I'm not sure why this gives the same effect at first, but after a few hours, I feel that my feet is still dry, like I've applied nothing on it at all. The occlusivity level is not high enough to prevent moisture loss.

I'm used to always cutting off the bottle
to finish up every last bit of my products 😂

The bottle is very hard so it's very difficult to cut & fold it half.
Since I've been turning the bottle around to finish them up,
there's actually not much lotion left after cutting it open.

Repurchase? ★
☆☆

It's a very nice daily moisturizing cream/body lotion but it's not enough hydration for dry to extremely dry skin, especially my palms & feet.

[SKINCARE] Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm 180ml

I've used it for 6 months lol

The amount I use to remove brow products & sunscreen daily

Once put on palms, it'll melt with the warmth of your hand,
becoming oil form

cleansing 1 side of face to see the difference

Add a bit of water to emulsify it & it'll turn milky
Continue massage it on your face & rinse it off
Then continue with your daily cleanser

Ingredients:

Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, PEG-10 Isostearate, Synthetic Wax, Onsen-Sui (Thermal Water), Phenoxyethanol, Butylene Glycol, Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance, Ethylhexylglycerin, Water, 1,2-Hexanediol, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract (Bamboo), Aspalathus Linearis Extract, Angelica Archangelica Root Extract, Malpighia Glabra (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Polydiethyleneglycol Adipate/IPDI Copolymer, Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer, Acrylates/Methoxy PEG-15 Methacrylate Copolymer

*(from YesStyle Website)

First Impression & Experience: ★

My first cleansing balm. It's convenient to use as it provides a spatula & the spatula is on the transparent plastic lid that came with it. So you won't lose the spatula or dirty it before putting on your face.

The smell is so-so to me as I'm not too allergic to fragrance scent. There's a period where my skin's very dehydrated and sensitive to fragrance & no matter what I used it stings. This product has a fragrance but it still doesn't irritate my skin.

There's no tugging motion & it's not abrasive to the eyes and lips at all as it'll turn into an oil form once it touches the warmth of your palms & face. It then turns milky once you mix a bit of water on your face. Just be gentle to your skin & don't rub too hard or squeeze your face. Putting it on your face gives a warm feeling.

Pros:

  • Save the space on your vanity
  • Reduce the waste of cotton pads
  • Travel-friendly

Cons:

  • Might be too oily for some people
  • The scent may be quite strong for people who are sensitive to fragrance

Final Thoughts & Conclusion:

It's a better alternative than micellar water because you can reduce the waste of cotton pads & the rubbing on the skin (which can consider daily mild exfoliation for sensitive skin people). I'd rather choose this than investing in a reusable cotton pads that I have to wash every time or every other day after I use. It's lesser maintenance cost & easy to carry around.

Repurchase? ★

It's worth the repurchase but I'd love to try other brands like the Heimish All Clean Balm and E Nature Moringa Cleansing Balm first. Then I'll decide which works the best.

[SKINCARE] Missha Time Revolution Artemisia First Treatment Essence 150ml

Product's Overview:

Last few drops of the goodies

Front view

Back view

Right side look
(the bottle shape is very unique, from thin to thick)

Last product shot with it

Close-up of the essence

Transparent watery yellowish essence

Ingredients:
Ver.1 - 100% Artemisia Annua extract (Missha Malaysia official website)
Ver.2 - Water, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Artemisia Annua Extract (Missha Global official website)

*From the studies, it is impossible for a product to contain only 1 ingredient because during the extraction, other ingredients are involved and preservatives will be added to extend the shelf-life of the product, considering the contact with air, microorganisms and other substances from the environment that may affect its effectiveness. Korea's Cosmetic regulation stated that only ingredients exceeds a certain amount has to be listed in the ingredient list. So, some Missha website might not show the full ingredient list, but only their main active ingredient*

First Impression & Experience:
The treatment essence is packed in cylindrical glass bottle, which will look very aesthetic on your vanity table. There's a plastic stopper after you twist open the lid of the product. At first when you pour it out, it might be quite hard to control the amount, but once you've used it a few times, the pressure in the bottle doesn't let the essence flow out too much anymore & you're good to go with the portion control.

The stopper

Top view of the bottle

From the official ingredient list, there's no fragrance added into the product, so it's only the herbal-ish artemisia (mugwort) smell which calms me and my skin at the same time. Personally, I'm okay with it, as long as the smell is not too strong and doesn't affect my routine. This part is to take not if you are someone who don't like herbal smell.

With an already irritated & sensitized skin barrier, on the first application, putting this on doesn't stings my face and lips at all, and even calmed down my dry patches and inflamed pimples.

Pros:

  • Provides enough hydration for my sensitized and dehydrated skin
  • Provides instant calming and soothing effect on tight/dry/painful & inflamed pimples
  • Can be used as treatment mask on targeted areas or full face (soak it into sponge puffs & lay on your face for 5-10 minutes)
Cons:

  • Glass bottle, hard to carry when travelling around (even though we don't have that much chances to travel now during this pandemic)

Final Thoughts & Conclusion:

During the end of last year, there's a period of time, I've been facing a weak skin barrier and easily irritated skin, which no matter what product I used, it stings and very dehydrated. My skin has became sensitive and dehydrated, as well as flaking & itching around my mouth area. This is all caused by mask-wearing, overly exfoliation and then alcohol ingredient in my products that worsened the situation. So, I got rid of fragranced and alcohol products, slowly opting in fragranced-free and alcohol-free products into my routine, as well as minimizing my steps of skincare (shrink to only 4 steps - Cleanser (only in P.M.), treatment essence, cream, sunscreen).

The first product that I opt into my new skincare routine was this treatment essence, due to the hype of their holy grail - Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence (will try this one day), but at that time my skin barrier was damaged and microbiome was very compromised, so I chose this ingredient that can calm down my skin. It's the first Missha product and first treatment essence I've used, also the first time I'm getting in touch with Artemisia/Mugwort.

With the use of this product for one week, twice a day (1-2 layers in A.M., 2-3 layers in P.M.), my skin and the pimples has calmed down a lot. The likelihood of breakouts are substantially lower to none. Applying 2 layers of this treatment essence provides a full day of hydration to my skin compared to previously when I'm not using it at all (half day, my mouth area starts to be irritated & requires reapplication of cream + lip balm).

Replacing this treatment essence into my toner step doesn't affect the hydration level of my skin, but even makes it better (pairing with the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence and Make P:rem Safe Me Relief Moisture Cream 12) *will blog about these in the future*. There's no more flaking and itchiness around my mouth area as I continue using it for 2 months.

According to one of the Skincare YouTuber - Kelly that I love, the word "first" in the treatment essence means that using it in your 1st step of routine after cleansing will provide better product absorption for the products afterwards. I did not try layering toner before or after this, but I can still see the promised result from the brand.

When I've emptied up the product, my skin has became healthier & there's no more signs of dehydration.

Repurchase?

With the effectiveness of the product and that it can last for a very long time even using it twice a day, it can be an emergency product to be stocked up in your vanity.

It is a very important product in my skincare routine, especially premenstrual & during menstrual cycle when the skin could be sensitive and having breakouts that is in need of calming sensation.

[FOOD HUNT] Nian Dai Kopidiam 年代茶室 Setapak 33

Recently there's a Facebook trend of Hong Kong style kopitiam (coffee shop in Hokkien language) in Kuala Lumpur.

I randomly stumbled upon this restaurant one day.
At first I thought it's like Kim Gary Restaurant that I've always love to go to,
turns out it's an old school kind of restaurant.

Restaurant's Theme & Decoration:
The decorations of the shop and their food brings back a lot of childhood memories.

The shelf of old-school convenience store & household stuff

The wall of memories

Playing cards, Doraemon Touch&Go card,
panda brand oil paint & etc.

The wall are filled with "tikam", paper barbie dolls & etc.

Counter section

Glass jar filled with childhood candies
at beverage making section

View from inside to the entrance

it tastes like cincau (grass jelly), rather than coffee

They gave 5 jelly pearls

Roti bakar (toasted bread) with kaya & butter
傳統雪油咖椰燒麵包
RM3.50

📍Location:
Wisma Setapak 33
With the location nearby TAR college, it should be having more young customers.
But instead, there's more mid-age group people.
Most probably because of the food choices and decoration are more old-school

💵Price: $$/$$$$$
Average spending per person including drinks will be RM20~25

🍴Food: ★★★☆☆
The food is medium size with the average female appetite's portion
They have more food choices, compared to 阿木冰室 Ah Muk Cha Chaan Teng (located beside).
Their food variation are somehow similar, also HK style.

When we wanted to takeaway the "char siew" puff 招牌豬仔酥 but they don't have the stock anymore,
they went to the 阿木冰室 to get it for us 😂

*I've went to 阿木冰室 Ah Muk Cha Chaan Teng before,
I'll write about it soon & link it here once it's up

🎫Parking: $/$$$$$
The parking area in front of the restaurant is RM2 per hour.
Sometimes when it's peak hour, you can still opt for the parking in the basement with RM1 per 2 hours.
You can also avoid being soaking wet when it's pouring if you park at the basement because there's a lift way up to beside the restaurant (✋a very experience gurl right here)

Check out their official website for more details and photos of the restaurant here
and their menu here
